Packing Mission Supplies for Ghana, 1/16/10
The money has been raised (over $25,000 from our church alone!) and the supplies have been donated. Susan's dream about supporting the Spartanburg Orphanage in Ghana as well as the hospital there will soon come true. With the extra money from our chruch we should be able to build a church also!!! Susan got the whole Presbytery involved and about a container of equipment and supplies are at Golden Strip Transfer waiting to be packed into a container. Today we had a work party and boxed supplies and moved items going to different areas to spots to have their boxes marked with spray paint indicating which recipient was to pick up each box in Ghana. The project has been spearheaded by Susan and Jeff Randall of our church. Special help has been given by Mark Cresap and Margeret Menz. We are especially thankful to Toby Garrett and his brother who own Golden Strip Transfer as they have donated warehouse space. Nita Reiter brought delicious hot soup which was greatly appreciated this cold Saturday in January. Susan has certainly been a very good steward this year!!! /hugh
