Gauley Season, 4th Weekend, September 26, 2014
My fourth weekend in West Virginia for Gauley season. I only brought my Allstar playboat this weekend only wanting to surf and do the Lower Gauley. On Friday we had a great group of Keelhaulers combining some of my favorite groups from Ohio, Washington DC, Detroit, the Chattooga area, and locals. I was especially happy to have Greg Gude back into paddling and Amanda making her first West Virginia paddling trip. We had 3 large campsites full of campers and divided into a lot go groups for Upper and Lower runs. I especially liked my 2 days of paddling in a small group with Dr Dave, Bill, Mary, and Erin. Mike always brings wood for the campfire. One night of pizza and two of Mexican food with large happy groups of paddlers!! Can't wait till the next three Gauley weekends!!! /hugh
