Galvaston, Texas, 5/15/2013
Galveston, just 40 miles from Houston but with traffic hours away. Yep, we were much later arriving than we had planned and after checking into the Hilton we had very little time to explore the waterfront before dinner called our name. We had a lovely seafood feast and made it to our room just as our eyes were closing. The next morning we spent time exploring The Strand and saw the tall ship ELISSA. It started to drizzle and we hurried to see as much as we could before the skies opened up. Back in the car we started our last leg home. That evening we spent in Atmore, Alabama and the next day we stopped in Montgomery for some retail therapy and then made our way to Sparkle City. It was one terrific trip with a very dear friend!! /susan
