J. W. Barrow from Bowdon Pictures, 12/5/1012
I got a new iPad and was learning how to use Siri. I gave her the task of finding me pictures of one of my favorite relatives, my great grandfather J. W. Barrow from Bowdon, GA. She found the following pictures and my dad wrote the following text about them. /hugh jr
Hugh found these pictures somehow. I have them or have had them but these are much better than the ones I have. CAR-39 is the Barrow Mercantile store. The two story Barrow Hardware building would later be built on the right hand side where a man is standing and a hole cut int the wall of this building into the new hardware store. CAR 61 is the Barrowl Hardware wagon going to Carrollton to the fair. Grandpa (John William Barrow) is the man with his right leg proped up on the wagon hub. Note that it is a 4 mule team hitched to the wagon. The young fellow up in the drivers seat is my dad, Hugh Witt Barrow and the colored man beside him is Grandpa right hand man, Mose. CAR 60 is a front of the store showing the muddy street and the electric light pole. Some ladies standing out front, probably store clerks? Grandpa built 7 of the brick buildings along the main part of Bowdon. /hugh sr
On 1/7/2025 I ran the original three pictures through Topaz AI enhancement software to try to get an enhanced photo of each/hugh Jr
