Upper Gauley River, September 6-8, 2012

When I finished my Idaho kayaking adventure what a pleasant surprise to have a phone message from Jim McHale inviting me to paddle the low water release of the Upper Gauley scheduled for Thursday 9/6. I hurriedly drove across the country to join Jim along with Drs Paul and Karen Lang. It was a great day of paddling. On Friday Jim and I did the Gauley Marathon and on Saturday I paddled with Paul and his friend Dan on the Upper Gauley. I had to come home Sat night as my back car window was broken. It was great to complete a wonderful month of world class kayaking!! What great friends with which to share the adventure!!! /hugh
