Middle Fork, Salmon River, Idaho, 8/22/2012

Today is the big day. I awoke early, cooked breakfast, and broke camp. I drove to McCall Air to meet some of my fellow adventures with Canyons Inc . We were met by our friend Sue Bechdel and boarded a small prop plane. There have been a lot of forrest fires in the Sawtooth Mountains that we could see as we flew to Indian Creek where we landed. We were soon joined by an even smaller plane from Boise carring Trey. We geared up and packed our boats. What a great group of river-loving campers!! Our group included Greg, Trey, Christy, Matteo, Julie, Giulia, Sam, Bill, and myself. Our guides were Helen, Ariana, Serena, Neal, and Josh. We have been on this itinery previously but in early June and late July so the river level was different and the weather was cooler. We enjoyed good food, played games, conquered rapids, took hikes, saw historic sites, and slept out under the stars. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. Several of the guests would be starting new paths along lifes journeys after the trip. What wonderful companionship and a great adventure! When will we all adventure together again!!! /hugh
