Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Assylum, 7/13/2012

While driving up Interstate 79 in West Virginia I saw a sign to visit this closed state psychiatric hospital. This was in operation from 1864 until 1994 and is the second largest cut sandstone structure behind only the Kremlin. I took a tour lasting over 2 hours and then enjoyed a nice museum including videos about prefrontal lobotomies. This was a very enjoyable visit. /hugh
