Susan's Story, The Black Sea & Holy Lands
Today was cool, crisp, & beautiful. We prayed and decided to live today in celebration of the life & love of Martha Rebecca Barrow Ambler. We love you Rebecca.
We were excited to get back to Russia again. Sochi will be the venue of the next Winter Olympic Games. In the period of the Tsars, the Russian gentry had their grand Black Sea palaces on the Crimea but Stalin had his main one here in Sochi. We first visited Stalin’s dacha with it’s odd green color and within it his study with it’s pink color. The desk & most of the furniture were gifts of Chairman Mao. Then we went to an observation point to look over the palm lined beaches on the sea coast and the snow covered mountains inland. This is clearly a big tourist destination and construction is evident everywhere. /susan
