Hugh's Last Days at Work, May 2010

In December of 1977 I rotated to Spartanburg General Hospital for 3 months as part of my OG-GYN residency and met Drs Paul Franklin Holcomb and Kyle F. Kiesau. I was excited when they offered to let me join their practice and we moved to Spartanburg the last week of June 1979. I started my medical practice July 9, 1979 and became a partner in January 1980. In December 1988 Dr. Holcomb retired and in July 1989 we were joined by Dr. Dean E. Davis who continues in our practice along now with Dr Kiesau, Dr. Grant Warren, Dr. Susan Marick, Dr. Adrienne Ellis, and Dr. Christine Felty. In February we sold our practice to Spartanbrug Regional. It was a hard but rewarding 31 years and I am appreciative of my patients, colleages, and employees.

Everyone else is gone. All charts are signed off. My Dragon Naturally Speaking has been uninstalled. I'm ready to head out for the last time.

Hugh's Last Days at Work, May 2010

I put on my lab coat for the very last time and strolled around the hospital. My last stop was the Chapel which has been a comfort to me since 1977.
