Overflow Creek, 11/13/2009

With tropical storm Ida's torrential rainfall, it's natural to have great creeking in seldom-run systems. This summer & fall I have paddled a lot with Tim Gill and did my first high-water run on Section IV of the Chatooga River last Friday. Tim had run Overflow Wed & Thurs and was able to take me down for my first run today. This was a long day as we stopped to scout the many Class V rapids & some Class IV ones. We didn't realize it was Friday the Thirteenth until we had finished the run. The Level was .8ft and was on the lower end of runnable. The weather was great and the North Georgia mountains couldn't have been more colorful. Hurry up rain, return so I can run Overflow again!!! /hugh
