Upper Gauley R., 9/19/09
Today would be Gavin & Peter's first trip on the Upper Gauley and we got a late start. The weather was beautiful and we all had good runs down to the dreaded Lost Peter Rapid above Sweets Falls. At Lost Peter there was so much color in that hole that it reminded me of a kaleidoscope as the three boats went over and over. The BIG FIVE were a piece of cake. Kelly sat at Pillow to video us and got great footage. We enjoyed paddling with JP & David. Then we went to Gauley Fest to sample the fare and festivities. A great day for everyone!!! /hugh
