Upper Yough, 9/4/09

Today I was excited to get to paddle with Tom Sutton again on the Upper Yough (Youghioheny River) in Maryland. It would be my first outing with the Keel-Hauler Canoe Club and I would end up spending much of September with them. I was led by John Kobak who has led over 100 first-timers down the river and I must say, one of the most pleasant and challenging paddlers with whom I have ever shared a river. My first run was hairy with a lot of read-and-run and my second run had been quite hairy so I was excited to be led for my third trip by the master himself. What a great day.
