Cheoah River, 10/4/08
Today I met up with Dustin & Amy to take Dustin on his first trip down the Cheoah River. We met Craik at his house and then met a huge crowd at the putin. I was glad to see Jeff, Rob, Terran, Mike Kennedy, Tonya, & Marshall. It was way too big a group and no matter what we did, we kept bunching up, an uncomfortable situation on that river. I didn't do the falls but sat at the top with Amy & Donna photographing our group. Everyone did well but the real star was Marshall Fox who was the only one we saw all day catch the little eddy in the middle of the Sweet's Falls double drop. Rob had arranged a picnic at the takeout but Dustin & Amy had our minds on the Sagebrush in Waynesville. It would be the last warm pretty paddling day of the season. /hugh
