Nolichucky R. Kayaking with Dan, 7/3/06

This was my fourth trip to Erwin, TN this year to paddle the Nolichucky. Susan & I had rafted it with the Nanthala Outdoor Center yesterday and Dan & I had come here twice but it was raining so hard the river was rising rapidly and we had gone down the Doe river with Wesley instead. There are a number of class IV rapids here like On the Rocks, Rooster Tail, & Quarter Mile. Today was indeed humbling! It sure is nice to paddle very warm water if you are taking drops that totally submerge you! It made me realise how much more I have to learn but at least I have Dan to teach me.
