Paddling the Nantahala with Joe, Elizabeth & Christopher 5/7/05

It's been so cold in our lake that I was late getting my skiils up to bigger whitewater this year than most years. I went to the Nantahala to paddle on Friday 5/6 and spent the night to paddle again on Saturday. I paddled agressively in anticipation of a big trip we have planned. On Saturday I met Joe, Elizabeth, and Christopher on the NOC shuttle bus to the top. They were gracious and let me tag along. I especially appreciate the quality video they shot of Christopher and I paddling "the falls". This reminds me of one of the many pleasant aspects of the sport...the people you meet on the river and the opportunity to paddle and shuttle with them. See you on the river! /hugh
