Manatees at Crystal River, FL 12/29/05
One of my favorite winter trips is to Crystal River to see the Manatees. Lori and I went every year when she was in junior high and even into high school. I wanted to share this experience with my wonderful son-in-law Ron Fulmer. We had SCUBA dived the Florida panhandle for two days and drove to Crystal River on Wed night. I had reserved a boat at Paradise Point Marina & Dive Shop Thursday morning. I had found that most of the manatees were near the Three Sister Springs and the other diveable springs. We started early and found dozens of manatees to swim with. Ron had a great idea and wore his dry suit without the liner. He was able to snorkle for hours in comfort. Great idea Ron!!! That night we had the pleasure of dining on seafood at Oyster's Restaraunt, one of my favorites anywhere! Great adventure Ron! Where will we go next?
