Nantahala Paddling with Lori, 11/13/05
What a pleasant surprise we received when our daughter Lori Fulmer called and said that she could come to spend a few days with us in South Carolina. We were excited because the weather is still so warm and the leaves are still so pretty. Also my daughter had not been back for almost 2 years. She took the all-night flight from California and we picked her up at Charlotte Airport at about 8:15 a.m. and we drove straight to the Nantahala. We outfitted her new Jackson Star at the Nantahala Outdoor Center, got dressed, and drove up to the commercial put in. Mom took some pictures of us getting used to our new boats. Mine is a Jackson AllStar and hers is a Jackson Star. Neither of us had ever paddled such little boats in whitewater before. We were quite pleased how quickly we became comfortable and had the most enjoyable day! She will be with us the rest of the week and maybe we can paddle again on Wednesday. Thanks for the great pictures Susan! /hugh
