A Hawk Lives Here Now! 2005
A few years ago when the lake was down hawks would catch too many fish to eat so they covered our yard with half-eaten fish. This year we have owls and hawks both. There are at least 2 owls within sight of our house and 2 hawks too. This is the smaller of the 2 hawks. I've had it swoop down behind me in the yard to try and get birds on the ground eating grass seed I was sewing. This hawk often nests 7 or 8 feet up in this tiny tree. Most of the others birds of prey stay in the tops of the trees. I got close enough to use my strobe for this daytime shot with Kodak ASA 200 print film.
