A Christmas Tree Comes Down
We've been in our house 18 years. One of the families that lived in it before us planted their Christmas tree one year and it came to be the dominant feature of our front yard. Last week Susan and I decided the house would look better without it. I climbed the tree and tied a strong climbing rope to the top. I tied it to the back of the Land Rover. My friend Michael Bryan came over and helped me cut the tree down. I was going to leave it and cut it up next weekend but then Susan came home and helped me cut it into manageable pieces and haul it off. The house sure looks better!

This is an old picture of the tree (left) a little later in the year when the impatiens were bigger than now.
Down came the tree.
Cleaning up.
What a big trunk!
The house isn't hidden!
