Tyger River at Flood Stage, 5/25/03
Dr Wilson Smith had taken me paddling on the Tyger River in 2001 when I was training for our great adventure on the Salmon River in Idaho. At that time we had a great time but the water was low. My next trip down was in the Tame The Tyger Race in March of this year and water was high. Today, the water was very high and yesterday a kayaker was rescued by helicopter from this river!
I was excited when Wilson Invited me to paddle with him. He is quite a legend in these parts! Everyone invited some friends to come along. I invited Dan , Eric, Christopher, and William. Wilson invited Arthur and Arthur invited Rex. What an adventurous day! There were some great surfing waves today and some good drops! Everyone finished safely and no one swam. It was an absolutely beautiful day.
