Green River Kayaking 6/7/02
On 6/7/2002 Trey and I took my good friend Marvin Martin and introduced him to the BEAUTIFUL Green River near Saluda, NC. It was a beautiful day and followed a couple nights of rain so levels were high. We did the third section which is the recreational section and we had a blast. We practiced our skills at the put-in and played at several surfing holes a long time. We ran across many paddlers for a Friday. It couldn't have been a more perfect day! We hope Marvin got back home in time to his beautiful new bride. The Green River levels can be checked by calling 1-800-829-5253. It takes water almost five hours to get from Tuxedo Hydrostation to the put in. In the summer they sometimes run the river only a limited number of hours so you have to be sure you get to the take-out in time. Happy Paddling! /hugh
