Christmas in April

For the fith year Spartanburg, SC has participated in the Christmas in April program. Many Churches were assinged a needy family who needed help with their home. This year all of the homes were in the Park Hills community on Reidville Rd. Westminster Presbyterian's group was led and organized by Claude Saleeby and like all of his endeavors, it was a resounding success. We were able to help Mr Sherbert Davis who has lost a leg to disease. On Friday a team trimmed schrubs and power washed the front porch, rail, and awning. On Sat 4/21/01 many of us met for an organizational breakfast at Park Hills Elementary School at 7am and got to the house before 8. Susan helped with scraping, priming, and painting the front rail. I did carpentry work on the back porch which had rotted badly. We replaced 4 doors and fixed his wheelchair ramp in the back. We worked in the yard and the home and property really looked great when we left.
