Carrolton, Ga. 8/24/01
Bonnie and Bill's new home!
On Friday 8/24/01 I had off as did Susan and Trey. We all met in Carrolton, Ga. to see my mom and dad's new home. We call my dad "Bill" and everybody calls my mom by her name, either Bonnie or Bonnie Jean. Trey drove in from Birmingham, Al. and was later arriving. We loved the new house! We also are very pleasantly-surprised at how Carrolton has grown. Looks like a great place to live! We first visited Bill's sister and my aunt Jean Barr in Bowdon. We were happy to see that she looked absolutely great! We went to downtown Bowdon to photograph sites and visit the cemetary where our family is buried. We then went to the Smithfield community to see where Bonnie grew up. On Saturday we went to an antique mall. Bill's brother David Trammell (Buddy) visited and we were very glad to see him!

Here we are in front of their house. From left Bill, Bonnie, Trey, Susan, and Hugh.

Their new house is beautiful!

The "Barrow House" in Bowdon where Bill grew up.

Bill's mother Virginia Trammell Barrow (Gingoo) lived here when I was in college. I would take the bus and visit her here.

My great grandfather J. W. Barrow built this building for Barrow Hardware.

Bonnie grew up in this house in the Smithfield community near Bowdon. My grandfather John Marvin Spruill built this home on over 1000 acres he owned.

Marvin Spruill also built this rock schoolhouse where Bonnie went to school and also taught school.
